Economy Parking
Los Angeles World Airports

Los Angeles, CA

The goal of the landscape design for the structure, plaza and adjacent ‘B’ Street was to enhance the pedestrian experience visually and aesthetically extending the vision from the Automated People Mover (APM) project creating a contiguous theme.  Low impact development (LID) practices were implemented wherever possible. Existing trees on site were documented and mitigated per City of Los Angeles guidelines. The proposed irrigation was designed with reclaimed water and drought tolerant plant materials to enforce the LAWA mission in support of sustainability.

Additional design features of the project included public pedestrian plazas, parking structure interior plantings to enhance the user experience, pedestrian access to the adjacent automated people mover station, and a dog park/dog run/relief area for passengers traveling with canine companions.

LCI was a Key Specialty Resource on the “LAX Economy Parking Structure“project, winning a DBIA Award of Merit in the Aviation category in 2022 and an Award of Merit from the International Parking and Mobility Institute in 2022
